Dear Enugu State Government, this is the condition of the Community Secondary School, Ama-Nkanu, Nkanu East LGA, since last two years.
It is quiet unfortunate that in this 21st century, we still have communities that are battling to set up ordinary five rooms block classroom for our future generation (Our Kids). Save African Children on Social vices Initiative, An NGO team who paid a visit to the site yesterday can authoritatively confirm that, there is no evidence of contractor or hope that the project can be completed any time soon.
Our team discovered that the project was not well executed. At the scene, the villagers confirmed that the project was abandoned for about two years now. Meanwhile, this project is the only hope for Ama-Nkanu people to have access to secondary education for the first time in their history. The Community have witnessed untold negligent since 1999.
In the course of our visit and interrogating the villagers, which included the children, we only notice a primary school in the community, there is no other school in Ama-Nkanu. Some of the community children privileged, travel for over four hours to the neighboring town for secondary education.
It will be an honor to this current administration if they can be the one to provide secondary education for the first time in the history of Ama Nkanu people. We also solicit for support and partnership with Save African Children on social vice initiative to enable us through collective effort to put smiles on the faces of this community people.
